EU Poison Center Notification (PCN) and UFI Code

 In accordance with Article 45 and Annex VIII of the Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) and, chemical mixtures that are classified as hazardous to human health * and/or having physicochemical ** hazards, are required to be notified to the Poison Centre. The notification requires the preparation of a file that identifies the chemical mixture and the mixture-specific UFI code is also included in the dossier. With the use of the UFI code, detailed information of the product can be accessed only by the authorities while not been visible to the actors in the supply chain. Thus, emergency health care provided through the Poison Center can be provided directly with the most accurate methods specific to the mixture while the Confidential information is protected.
